Causes

Broken wiring harness to the sensor
Sensor wire shorted to +12V
Malfunction of the sensor itself
Problems with connecting the sensor (oxidation of contacts)
SRS control unit malfunction

How to Fix

Visually inspect the sensor wiring harness for damage
Checking the resistance and continuity of the sensor circuit with a multimeter
Checking for short to power
Diagnostics of the sensor for compliance with specifications
Replacing the sensor or repairing the harness if necessary
Reset error B0036 and retest
