Symptoms

• SRS/Airbag light is on
• The passive safety system may not work in an accident.
• The error is stored in the memory of the SRS unit

Causes

• Left side shock/position sensor malfunction
• Open or short circuit in the sensor wiring harness
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Damage after an accident or repair
• SRS module malfunction

How to Fix

1. Diagnose the SRS system with a scanner
2. Visually check the condition of the wiring harness and connectors
3. Measure the sensor resistance (compare with factory values)
4. Check the continuity of the circuit from the sensor to the SRS module
5. If necessary, replace the faulty sensor or repair the wiring harness
6. Clear error memory and check if the fault returns
