Symptoms

• The SRS/airbag indicator on the dashboard is on
• Restraint system error message
• The safety system may not work in an accident

Causes

• Malfunction of the shock sensor itself
• Open or short circuit in wiring harness
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Sensor damage due to corrosion or physical impact
• SRS control unit malfunction

How to Fix

1. Read and save SRS fault codes
2. Visually inspect the sensor and wiring on the right side
3. Check the resistance and voltage at the sensor
4. Check the integrity of the wiring harness to the sensor
5. If necessary, replace the faulty sensor
6. Clear error codes and check system operation
