Symptoms

• SRS/Airbag light is on
• Security error message on dashboard
• Malfunction of the active hood (if there is one)

Causes

• Low fluid level in reservoir
• Level sensor fault
• Damage to the wiring harness to the sensor
• Short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Problems with the SRS control unit

How to Fix

1. Check the fluid level in the reservoir (if it is topped up)
2. Check the integrity of the level sensor
3. Use a diagnostic scanner to check sensor parameters
4. Check wiring harness and connectors for damage
5. If necessary, replace the sensor or add fluid
