Symptoms

• The passive safety system fault indicator is on
• Disabling part of the safety system (such as seat belt pretensioners)
• Lack of system response to diagnostic requests

Causes

• Open or short circuit in the actuator circuit
• Faulty blendsquib (squib)
• Security wiring harness problems
• Malfunction of the actuator itself
• Damage after an accident (if the mechanism has already been triggered)

How to Fix

1. Diagnose the passive safety system using a scanner
2. Check the continuity and resistance of the actuator circuit
3. Inspect the wiring harness for damage
4. Check the condition of the squibs and connections
5. If necessary, replace the faulty component
6. Reset the error and test the system
