Symptoms

Causes

• VVT or EGR solenoid valve (solenoid) malfunction
• Open or short circuit in wiring harness
• Air flow control valve is dirty or mechanically damaged
• Malfunction of the camshaft or crankshaft position sensor
• Oil pressure problems (for VVT systems)

How to Fix

1. Check the condition of the wiring harness and connectors in the air flow control circuit
2. Check resistance and operation of VVT/EGR solenoid
3. Clean or replace air control valve if necessary
4. Check oil pressure and level (for VVT systems)
5. Scan the ECU for additional errors
6. If necessary, update the ECU software
