Symptoms

  • The oil change indicator does not light up when the ignition is turned on
  • The oil change indicator is constantly on
  • Unable to reset oil change indicator

Causes

  • Broken or damaged wiring harness
  • Burnt out indicator lamp
  • Short circuit in the circuit
  • Control module malfunction

How to Fix

  1. Check the integrity of the wiring harness in the indicator circuit
  2. Replace the burnt out indicator lamp
  3. Check and, if necessary, replace the control module
  4. Reset the error using an OBD-II scanner and check if it returns
