Symptoms

  • The security system malfunction indicator is on
  • The seat belt pretensioner on the right side does not work during a collision.
  • Error B1433 is stored in the system memory

Causes

  • Pretensioner circuit break
  • Pretensioner squib malfunction
  • Damage to the wiring harness between the control unit and the pretensioner
  • Contact corrosion
  • Malfunction of the security control unit

How to Fix

  1. Check the integrity of the pretensioner chain
  2. Inspect the wiring harness for damage
  3. Check squib resistance
  4. Check contacts for corrosion
  5. If necessary, replace the squib or wiring harness.
  6. Reset the error and check the system operation
