Symptoms

• The sliding door on the right does not close completely or is delayed
• The door periodically opens spontaneously after closing
• The sliding door motor continues to operate after it is physically closed.
• Instrument panel malfunction indicator (Check Engine or special door indicator)
• Inability to control the door via a remote control or a button in the cabin
• The door hangs in an intermediate position
• Error sound when trying to close the door

Causes

• Mechanical damage or wear to the neutral position switch
• Corroded or oxidized switch contacts
• Violation of the integrity of the wiring harness to the sensor
• Loose or disconnected sensor connector
• Incorrect adjustment of the sliding door mechanism (the door does not close completely)
• Damage to the wiring in the sensor circuit (open or short circuit)
• Switch power circuit fault
• Door control module (ECU) malfunction
• Mechanical jamming of the door closing mechanism
• Switch contact surfaces are dirty

How to Fix

1. Connect a diagnostic scan tool and read the complete list of active and stored trouble codes
2. Visually inspect the neutral switch, wiring harness, and connectors for damage, corrosion, or looseness.
3. Check the sliding door mechanism for jamming or incorrect positioning
4. Measure the resistance of the switch in the open and closed positions (usually about 0 ohms in the closed position)
5. Check the supply voltage at the sensor connector (usually 12V)
6. Check continuity between switch and door control module
7. Clean the switch contacts from corrosion and dirt or replace the switch if damaged
8. Adjust the position of the door closing mechanism according to the technical regulations of the car
9. Reconnect the connectors and re-tighten the terminals
10. Clear the fault code using a scan tool and perform a door open/close test cycle
11. Check that the code no longer appears when reading the error memory again
