Symptoms
- Warning about overheating of the corresponding system
- Reducing pump power or switching to emergency mode
- The corresponding fault indicator lights up
- Unstable operation of the steering or brake system
- Error code persists after reset
Causes
- Broken wire in the temperature sensor circuit
- Short circuit in the sensor circuit
- Oxidation of the sensor connector
- Malfunction of the temperature sensor itself
- Pump control module malfunction
How to Fix
- Read error codes and determine the system to which the pump belongs
- Inspect the temperature sensor connector for oxidation and damage.
- Measure the resistance of the sensor at a known temperature (check with the characteristic)
- Check the supply voltage and integrity of the sensor ground
- Replace the temperature sensor if the fault is confirmed
- Reset codes and check system operation
