Symptoms

• The ABS or ESP indicator on the dashboard is on
• Active safety features disabled
• Cruise control does not work or does not turn off when pressing the brake
• Brake lights may not work correctly
• Error code persists after reset

Causes

• Malfunction or misadjustment of brake pedal switch B
• Open or short circuit in the switch circuit
• Switch connector oxidation
• Mechanical damage or wear of the switch
• ABS or ECU module malfunction

How to Fix

1. Read error codes of all modules (ABS, ECU, ESP)
2. Check the operation of the brake lights when the brake pedal is pressed.
3. Inspect the brake pedal switch for damage and proper adjustment.
4. Measure the voltage of switch B with the pedal pressed and released
5. Adjust or replace the brake pedal switch
6. Reset codes and check operation of all related systems
