Symptoms
- The traction control disable indicator is constantly on or flashing
- Traction control system does not activate or does not work correctly
- The ABS warning light on the dashboard is on
- It is impossible to determine the actual state of the traction control system
Causes
- Faulty indicator lamp on the dashboard
- Damage to the wiring harness between the ABS/ESP unit and the dashboard
- Malfunction of the ABS/ESP control unit
- Poor contact in the indicator circuit connectors
- Control unit software failure
How to Fix
- Read error codes with a scanner that supports ABS/ESP protocols
- Check the status of the traction control indicator lamp on the instrument panel
