Symptoms

• Incorrect ABS operation
• Stabilization system failure
• The ABS/ESP warning light on the dashboard comes on
• Inability to activate cruise control

Causes

• Open or short circuit in the speed sensor circuit
• Wheel speed sensor malfunction
• Oxidation or damage to connector contacts
• Mechanical damage to the sensor (for example, impact)
• ABS ECU malfunction

How to Fix

1. Visual inspection of the sensor wiring and connectors for damage
2. Checking the resistance of the wheel speed sensor
3. Checking the sensor signal using an oscilloscope
4. Replacing the wheel speed sensor if necessary
5. Repair or replace damaged wiring
6. Resetting the error code and checking the system operation
