Symptoms

• The security system malfunction indicator is on
• The passive safety system can be disabled
• The error may be accompanied by other security trouble codes

Causes

• Short circuit to positive in the wiring harness
• Malfunction of the solenoid valve (solenoid)
• Damage to the security control unit
• Corrosion or oxidation of contacts in the circuit
• Mechanical damage to system elements

How to Fix

1. Conduct system diagnostics with a scanner capable of working with the SRS module
2. Conduct a visual inspection of the wiring harness for damage.
3. Check control circuit resistance
4. If necessary, replace faulty components
5. Reset errors and check the system
