Causes

Parking brake limit switch faulty
Open or short circuit in switch wiring
Misadjustment or mechanical damage to the switch
Oxidation of connector contacts
EPB button malfunction (on vehicles with electric parking brake)

How to Fix

Read the error codes and check the status of the parking brake switch with a scanner
Check the operation of the switch - it should change state when the brake is turned on/off
Measure the voltage and resistance at the switch contacts
Inspect the wiring and connector for damage
Replace or adjust the limit switch
Reset the error and check for correct operation
