Symptoms

• ABS/ESP indicator is on
• Deterioration of the anti-lock braking system
• Loss of electronic stabilization functions
• Possible problems with the emergency braking system

Causes

• Malfunction of the brake pressure sensor (left circuit)
• Open or short circuit in wiring harness
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Damage to the ABS/ESC control unit
• Contact corrosion or oxidation

How to Fix

1. Check the integrity of the wiring harness to the sensor
2. Inspect the sensor connector for damage
3. Measure resistance and voltage at the sensor
4. Check the sensor readings using a diagnostic scanner
5. If necessary, replace the pressure sensor
6. Flash the control unit if you suspect a software error
