Symptoms

• ABS or ESP indicator is on
• Disabling the ABS or ESP system
• Unstable operation of the stabilization system

Causes

• Damage to the wheel speed sensor
• Sensor contamination
• Open or shorted wiring harness
• Malfunction of the ABS/ESP control unit
• Problems with the ring gear on the hub

How to Fix

1. Check the visual condition of the sensor and ring gear
2. Clean the sensor from dirt
3. Check resistance and integrity of wiring harness
4. Replace faulty speed sensor
5. Check and replace ring gear if necessary
6. Scan the system for other errors
