Symptoms

  • Unstable engine operation at idle
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Difficulty starting the engine, especially in cold weather
  • Reduced engine power

Causes

  • Fuel temperature sensor malfunction
  • Open or short circuit in the sensor wiring harness
  • Poor contact in the sensor connector
  • ECU problems (rare)

How to Fix

  1. Check the resistance of the fuel temperature sensor (compare with factory values)
  2. Inspect the wiring harness and sensor connector for damage.
  3. Check the voltage and signal of the sensor using a multimeter or oscilloscope
  4. If necessary, replace the fuel temperature sensor or repair the wiring harness
  5. Reset the error and check if it returns
