Symptoms
- Unstable engine operation at idle
- Increased fuel consumption
- Difficulty starting the engine, especially in cold weather
- Reduced engine power
Causes
- Fuel temperature sensor malfunction
- Open or short circuit in the sensor wiring harness
- Poor contact in the sensor connector
- ECU problems (rare)
How to Fix
- Check the resistance of the fuel temperature sensor (compare with factory values)
- Inspect the wiring harness and sensor connector for damage.
- Check the voltage and signal of the sensor using a multimeter or oscilloscope
- If necessary, replace the fuel temperature sensor or repair the wiring harness
- Reset the error and check if it returns
