Symptoms

Causes

  • Damage to fuel temperature sensor wiring harness B
  • Poor connection or corrosion in sensor connectors
  • Malfunction of the fuel temperature sensor B itself
  • Circuit Grounding Problems
  • ECU malfunction (rare)

How to Fix

  1. Check the integrity of the fuel temperature sensor wiring harness B
  2. Check the sensor and ECU connectors for corrosion or damage.
  3. Test resistance of fuel temperature sensor B (compare with manufacturer specifications)
  4. Check the reference voltage and grounding in the sensor circuit
  5. If necessary, replace fuel temperature sensor B
  6. Clear error codes and check if P0189 returns
