Symptoms

  • Loss of engine power
  • Unstable engine operation
  • Problems starting the engine
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Check Engine light comes on

Causes

  • Fuel injection pump malfunction
  • Damage to BIECTA pump control wires
  • Problems with contacts in the control circuit
  • Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction
  • Mechanical damage to the rotor or pump chamber

How to Fix

  1. Check the condition of the wiring harness and contacts of the injection pump
  2. Measure resistance and voltage in the pump control circuit
  3. Check the mechanical condition of the injection pump
  4. If necessary, replace the injection pump
  5. Reflash or replace the ECU if it is suspected of being faulty
