Causes
- Wear of the teeth of the crankshaft drive disc
- Incorrect air gap between sensor and drive disc
- Sensor clogged with metal shavings
- Electromagnetic interference in the sensor circuit
- Worn sensor with unstable characteristics
How to Fix
- Read codes, check for codes P0335–P0339 and P0387–P0388
- Inspect crankshaft sensor B and its connector
- Check and adjust the air gap (normal: 0.5–1.5 mm)
- Clean the sensor from metal particles
- Inspect the drive disc for tooth damage
- Replace the sensor if the fault is confirmed
