Causes

Wear of the teeth of the crankshaft drive disc
Incorrect air gap between sensor and drive disc
Sensor clogged with metal shavings
Electromagnetic interference in the sensor circuit
Worn sensor with unstable characteristics

How to Fix

Read codes, check for codes P0335–P0339 and P0387–P0388
Inspect crankshaft sensor B and its connector
Check and adjust the air gap (normal: 0.5–1.5 mm)
Clean the sensor from metal particles
Inspect the drive disc for tooth damage
Replace the sensor if the fault is confirmed
