Causes
- Dirty/worn VVT solenoid on bank 2
- Low oil pressure (inadequate viscosity, clogged filter)
- Mechanical damage to the phase shifter
- Malfunction of the camshaft position sensor (bank 2)
- Problems with the VVT wiring harness or connectors
- ECU software error (reflashing required)
How to Fix
- Check the level and condition of the engine oil (replace if necessary)
- Visually inspect the timing chain on bank 2
- Check resistance and operation of VVT solenoid
- Test camshaft position sensor (bank 2)
- Check oil pressure (especially during cold starts)
- Scan the system for related errors
- If necessary, replace the phase shifter or VVT solenoid
