Causes
- Wear of the heating element of the glow plug of cylinder 4
- Poor contact or oxidation of the glow plug connector
- Partial damage to circuit wire insulation
- Incipient failure of the relay or spark plug control module
- Glow plug terminal corrosion
How to Fix
- Read error codes and record frozen frame data
- Measure the resistance of the glow plug of cylinder 4 (standard 0.5–2 Ohm)
- Inspect the spark plug connector and terminal for oxidation, clean the contacts
- Check the current through the spark plug when warming up using a current clamp
- Replace the glow plug if abnormal performance is confirmed
- Reset codes and make sure they are gone after replacement
