Symptoms
- Check Engine Light Is On
- Misfire in one or more cylinders
- Unstable engine operation
- Reduced power and acceleration dynamics
- Increased fuel consumption
Causes
- Internal malfunction of the ignition coil driver in the ECU
- Overheating or damage to the engine control unit
- Moisture or short circuit in the ECU
- Overvoltage in the on-board network (voltage surges)
- Damage to the external ignition coil circuit, loading the ECU
How to Fix
- Read all error codes and check for ignition coil codes (P0350–P0362)
- Check external wiring and ignition coil connectors
- Measure the resistance of the ignition coils and make sure they are in good condition.
- Check the ECU supply voltage and grounding quality
- Inspect the ECU connectors for corrosion and damage.
- If the external circuits are in good condition, send the ECU for diagnostics or repair to a specialized workshop
