Causes
- Shorting the reference voltage wire of circuit F to a higher voltage source
- Internal ECU stabilizer malfunction
- Poor grounding of the control unit
- Damage to wiring insulation
- Incorrect connection during previous repair
How to Fix
- Measure the voltage at the ECU circuit terminal F - it should be about 5 V
- Check to see if circuit wire F is not shorted with adjacent wires in the harness.
- Check the ECU grounding (resistance should be less than 0.1 Ohm)
- Inspect the ECU connectors for incorrect connections.
- With the sensors disconnected, measure the voltage again - if it is high, the problem is in the ECU
- Send the ECU for diagnostics or replacement if an internal fault is confirmed
