Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • AdBlue system fault lamp
  • Incorrect reagent dosage
  • Possible power limitation or start blocking in the event of a prolonged fault
  • Increased NOx emissions

Causes

  • Temperature sensor internal short circuit
  • Damage to the internal wiring of the SCR module
  • Moisture ingress into the control module housing
  • Physical damage to the module
  • Sensor manufacturing defect

How to Fix

  1. Make sure the code is correct - exclude external causes
  2. Check power and grounding of the SCR control module
  3. Inspect the module housing for signs of mechanical damage or moisture ingress
  4. If an internal sensor fault is confirmed, replace the SCR module
  5. Make sure the new module is programmed correctly
  6. Test the AdBlue system after replacement
