Symptoms

Causes

  • Turbine input shaft speed sensor malfunction
  • Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
  • Poor contact in the sensor connector
  • Low or contaminated transmission fluid
  • Mechanical problems inside the gearbox

How to Fix

  1. Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid
  2. Visually inspect the sensor and its wiring for damage
  3. Check the resistance and signal of the sensor with a multimeter
  4. Clean the contacts of the sensor connector or replace the connector if necessary
  5. Replace the turbine input shaft speed sensor if the fault is confirmed
