Symptoms

  • Unstable engine operation

Causes

  • Engine cooling system malfunction
  • Clogged radiator or cooling fan
  • Damaged or overheated engine control unit (ECU)
  • Problems with wiring or contacts
  • Extreme operating conditions (high ambient temperature)

How to Fix

  1. Check the coolant level and condition of the cooling system
  2. Clean the radiator and check the operation of the cooling fan
  3. Check the condition of the engine control unit and its cooling
  4. Inspect electrical wiring and contacts for damage
  5. Allow the engine to cool before continuing to operate.
