Symptoms
- The Check Engine light comes on
- Reduced vehicle power or performance
- Reduced electric range
- Incorrect battery temperature reading on display
- Activation of emergency operation mode of the power plant
Causes
- Open or short circuit in the temperature sensor circuit
- Corroded or loose contacts in electrical connectors
- Faulty battery temperature sensor
- Battery Management Module (BMS) internal failure
How to Fix
- Carry out diagnostics with a scanner to check the exact parameters of the sensor
- Visually inspect the sensor wiring harness and connectors for damage and corrosion.
- Check resistance and reference voltage at sensor
- If necessary, replace the faulty temperature sensor
- Repair only from an authorized dealer
