Causes

  • Loose or corroded sensor electrical connection
  • Open or short circuit in sensor circuit wiring harness
  • Faulty inverter temperature sensor
  • Powertrain control module (PCM) internal malfunction

How to Fix

  1. Visually inspect the sensor connector and wiring for damage, corrosion, or loose connections.
  2. Checking the resistance and continuity of the temperature sensor circuit
  3. Checking the sensor signal voltage using a scanner or multimeter
