Symptoms

  • Cooling fan turns on periodically
  • Difficulty starting the engine

Causes

  • Coolant temperature sensor malfunction
  • Poor contact in the sensor connector
  • Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
  • Low coolant level
  • Air lock in the cooling system

How to Fix

  1. Check the coolant level and add if necessary
  2. Inspect the sensor connector and wiring for damage.
  3. Check sensor resistance at different temperatures
  4. If necessary, replace the coolant temperature sensor
  5. Reset the error code and check if it appears again
