Causes

  • Malfunction of the crankshaft position sensor
  • Open or short circuit in wiring
  • Oxidized or damaged connector contacts

How to Fix

  1. Check the condition of the crankshaft position sensor
  2. Inspect the 3X signal circuit for damage.
  3. Check the contacts of the sensor and ECU connectors
  4. Test the sensor signal with an oscilloscope
