Causes
- Malfunction of the crankshaft position sensor
- Open or short circuit in wiring
- Oxidized or damaged connector contacts
- Mechanical damage to the drive disk
- Problems with the engine ECU
How to Fix
- Check the condition of the crankshaft position sensor
- Inspect the 3X signal circuit for damage.
- Check the contacts of the sensor and ECU connectors
- Test the sensor signal with an oscilloscope
- If necessary, replace the sensor or repair the wiring
