Causes
- Transmission fluid temperature sensor malfunction
- Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
- Poor contact in the sensor connector

- Transmission control module (TCM) malfunction
How to Fix
- Check the level and condition of the transmission fluid
- Check the integrity of the sensor circuit and the quality of connections
- Test sensor resistance at different temperatures
- Replace the transmission fluid temperature sensor if necessary
- Check and, if necessary, replace the transmission control unit
