Symptoms

• The car does not change gears
• The gearbox is locked in one position
• Check Engine Light Is On
• Problems starting the engine (in some models)
• Inability to move selector out of Park position

Causes

• Selector lever position sensor malfunction
• Problems with the automatic transmission locking chain
• Interlock solenoid malfunction
• Mechanical damage in the gearbox
• Problems with the automatic transmission control module

How to Fix

1. Check fuses associated with the automatic transmission system
2. Diagnose the gear selector position sensor
3. Check the integrity of the locking circuit
4. Test Interlock Solenoid
5. If necessary, replace faulty components
