Symptoms

• Gear shifting only in emergency mode
• Inability to use manual switching mode
• Check Engine light comes on
• Reduced vehicle dynamics
• The gearbox is fixed in one gear

Causes

• Open or short circuit in switch circuit
• Malfunction of the manual mode switch itself
• Problems with the wiring harness to the switch
• Transmission control module (TCM) malfunction
• Poor contact in connectors

How to Fix

1. Check the continuity of the switch circuit
2. Test the operation of the manual mode switch
3. Inspect and repair wiring harness if necessary
4. Check connections and connectors on the gearbox
5. If necessary, replace the manual mode switch
