Symptoms

• The Check Engine light comes on
• Increased NOx emissions
• Possible reduction in engine power
• SCR error message on dashboard
• Inability to refill AdBlue

Causes

• Open or short circuit in valve circuit
• Reagent purge valve malfunction
• Connector problems or contact corrosion
• SCR control module malfunction
• Wiring harness damage

How to Fix

1. Check the integrity of the reagent purification valve circuit
2. Check the resistance of the reagent purge valve
3. Inspect connectors and wiring for damage
4. If necessary, replace the reagent purge valve
5. Check and, if necessary, replace the SCR control module
6. Clear error codes and check if error is returned
