Causes

  • Open or short circuit in control circuit
  • Throttle motor malfunction
  • Problems with the wiring harness or connectors
  • Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction
  • Corrosion of contacts in the control circuit

How to Fix

  1. Check the integrity of the multimeter control circuit
  2. Inspect connectors and wiring harness for damage
  3. Check the resistance of the throttle motor
  4. If necessary, replace the throttle assembly
  5. Test and, if necessary, replace the engine control unit
