Causes

  • Physical damage to the diesel particulate filter
  • No particulate filter
  • Severely clogged filter
  • Thermal destruction of the substrate
  • Malfunction of exhaust gas pressure sensors

How to Fix

  1. Visual inspection of the particulate filter for damage
  2. Checking the pressure in the exhaust system
  3. Diagnostics of exhaust gas pressure sensors
  4. Replacing the diesel particulate filter if necessary
  5. Forced DPF regeneration (if possible)
