Symptoms

  • Possible popping or whistling sounds from the turbine

Causes

  • Open circuit in valve control circuit
  • Short circuit to positive in the control circuit
  • Solenoid valve malfunction (jamming, winding break)
  • Problems with the wiring harness (frayed, damaged)
  • Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction

How to Fix

  1. Visually inspect the wiring harness and connectors for damage
  2. Checking the solenoid valve coil resistance
  3. Checking the voltage and continuity of the control circuit using a multimeter
