Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Is On
• Problems when passing a technical inspection
• Slight increase in fuel consumption
• Possible smell of gasoline (if there is a leak)
• The code may not be accompanied by noticeable symptoms

Causes

• EVAP pump sensor circuit short circuit
• Broken or damaged wires
• Leak detection pump malfunction
• Connector problems or contact corrosion
• Malfunction of the engine control unit (rare)

How to Fix

1. Check the condition of the wiring harness and connectors in the EVAP pump circuit
2. Measure the resistance and voltage in the sensor circuit
3. Test the EVAP system leak detection pump
4. If necessary, replace the pump or repair the wiring
5. Clear diagnostic codes and check if the error returns
