- Possible black smoke from the exhaust pipe
Causes
- Faulty exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor in bank 2
- Open or short circuit in the EGT sensor circuit
- Problems with injectors causing over-rich mixture and increased temperature
- Malfunction of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve in bank 2
- Mechanical damage or clogging of the exhaust system
How to Fix
- Read trouble codes and freeze frame data using a diagnostic scanner
- Check the readings and resistance of the bank 2 exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensors
