Symptoms

• Unstable engine idling
• Jerks during acceleration
• Increased fuel consumption
• Check Engine Light Illuminates
• Reduced engine power

Causes

• Throttle Position Sensor Malfunction
• Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Poor contact in the TPS connector
• Sensor power problems
• Engine ECU malfunction

How to Fix

1. Check the condition of the sensor connector and wiring
2. Check the voltage and resistance of the sensor with a multimeter
3. Clean the throttle valve and check its mechanical operation
4. Replace the throttle position sensor if necessary
5. Check and, if necessary, replace the computer
