Symptoms

• Check Engine light comes on
• Reduced engine power
• Increased fuel consumption
• Unstable engine idling
• The engine may go into emergency mode

Causes

• Malfunction of the rocker actuator position sensor
• Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Problems with power or grounding of the circuit
• Engine control unit malfunction

How to Fix

1. Check the integrity of the sensor circuit
2. Check connections and contacts in the sensor connector
3. Check circuit power and grounding
4. Replace the rocker actuator position sensor if necessary
5. Check and, if necessary, replace the engine control unit
