Causes

Parking latch position sensor malfunction
Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
Poor contact in the sensor connector
Wiring harness damage
Transmission control unit malfunction

How to Fix

Check the integrity of the wiring to the sensor
Check the contacts in the sensor and control unit connectors
Check sensor resistance (compare with nominal values)
If necessary, replace the parking latch position sensor
Check and, if necessary, reflash the transmission control unit
