Symptoms

• Unstable engine idling

Causes

• Cylinder 3 ion current sensor malfunction
• Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
• Poor contact in the sensor connector
• Malfunction of the ignition coil or spark plug in the 3rd cylinder
• Problems with the engine control unit

How to Fix

1. Check the condition of the spark plug and coil in the 3rd cylinder
2. Inspect the wiring harness and sensor connector for damage.
3. Check the resistance of the ion current sensor (according to the manufacturer's specifications)
4. If necessary, replace the ion current sensor
5. Carry out diagnostics of the engine control unit if you suspect its malfunction
