Symptoms

  • Check Engine light comes on
  • Reduced engine power (emergency mode)
  • Unstable engine idling
  • Dips when pressing the gas pedal
  • The car may go into limited speed mode

Causes

  • Malfunction of the throttle position sensor (channel B or G)
  • Damaged wiring or poor contact in connectors
  • Short circuit or open circuit in the sensor circuit
  • Mechanical problem with throttle body
  • Problems with the accelerator pedal (in systems with electronic pedal)

How to Fix

  1. Check error codes and sensor data using a scanner
  2. Visually inspect the wiring and sensor connectors
  3. Check the resistance and voltage of the position sensors
  4. Clean the throttle valve if it is dirty
  5. If necessary, replace the faulty sensor
