Symptoms
- Check Engine light comes on
- Reduced engine power (emergency mode)
- Unstable engine idling
- Dips when pressing the gas pedal
- The car may go into limited speed mode
Causes
- Malfunction of the throttle position sensor (channel B or G)
- Damaged wiring or poor contact in connectors
- Short circuit or open circuit in the sensor circuit
- Mechanical problem with throttle body
- Problems with the accelerator pedal (in systems with electronic pedal)
How to Fix
- Check error codes and sensor data using a scanner
- Visually inspect the wiring and sensor connectors
- Check the resistance and voltage of the position sensors
- Clean the throttle valve if it is dirty
- If necessary, replace the faulty sensor
