Causes

  • Open or short circuit in the sensor circuit
  • Malfunction of the temperature sensor itself
  • Poor contact in sensor connectors

  • Corroded contacts or damaged wiring

How to Fix

  1. Check the continuity of the sensor circuit using a multimeter
  2. Inspect the connectors and contacts of the sensor for damage
  3. Replace the coolant temperature sensor if necessary
  4. Check and, if necessary, replace damaged wires
  5. Diagnosis of the engine ECU when the error recurs
