Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Is On
• Engine takes longer to warm up

Causes

• Open or short circuit in bypass valve wiring
• Coolant bypass valve malfunction
• Corrosion of bypass valve connectors
• Engine control module (ECU) malfunction
• Wiring harness damage

How to Fix

1. Check the bypass valve wiring and connectors for damage or corrosion.
2. Check the resistance of the bypass valve using a multimeter.
3. Check for voltage at the bypass valve connector.
4. Replace the coolant bypass valve if it is faulty.
5. Check the ECU for other errors and reprogram it if necessary.
