Causes

Open or short circuit in the CAN bus wiring
Corrosion or oxidation of contacts in connectors
Malfunction of one of the electronic modules
Damage to CAN bus terminators
Problems with module power supply

How to Fix

Visual inspection of the CAN bus wiring for damage
Checking the CAN bus resistance (should be about 60 ohms between CAN-H and CAN-L)
Checking the voltage on the CAN bus (2.5-3.5V on CAN-H and 1.5-2.5V on CAN-L)
Disabling modules one by one to find the faulty one
Checking the integrity of resistance terminators
