Lost Communication With Body Control Module C
Severity: MEDIUM
Symptoms
- Failure of comfort systems (window regulators, central locking)
- Interior lighting or side lights not working
- The warning light on the dashboard is on
- Problems starting the engine (in some models)
- Malfunctions of wipers or washers
Causes
- Open or short in the wiring between the BCM and the ECU
- BCM power or ground problems
- Malfunction of the BCM module itself
- Damage to the CAN communication bus
- Software error in ECU or BCM
How to Fix
- Check BCM related fuses
- Inspect the BCM wiring harness and connectors for damage.
- Check supply voltage and ground on BCM
- Scan other modules for related errors
- If necessary, replace or reflash the BCM
